Owners in Ontario benefit from a range of sales incentives aimed to improve the quality of the stock based in the Province.
Ontario Bred means a horse foaled in the Province of Ontario out of an Ontario Resident Mare. Ontario Resident Mare means a mare, registered with the Horse Improvement Program Registry, foaling out in Ontario that has met all residency eligibility requirements for the birth year.

For 2024, the Thoroughbred Improvement Program will award sales credits to Owners of REGISTERED ONTARIO BRED winners as follows:
$1,000 credit to the winner of a $15,000 to $20,000 Claiming Race
$ 750 credit to the winner of a $14,000 and under Claiming Race
Sales Credits are issued to the Owners of REGISTERED ONTARIO BRED winners at the above listed claiming levels. These credits will be cumulative and must be used at a CTHS Ontario sale within one calendar year after earned. Sales credits earned may be transferable upon providing the necessary documentation requested by the program administrator.

In conjunction with Fort Erie Race Track, the Thoroughbred Improvement Program offers a Sales Credit and Owners Bonus program for top end claiming races and allowance races at Fort Erie as follows:
$1,000 credit to the winner of a $15,000 to $20,000 Claiming Race
$ 750 credit to the winner of a $7,500 to $14,000 Claiming Race
Sales Credits will be issued to the Owners of the REGISTERED ONTARIO BRED winners at the above listed claiming levels. These credits will be cumulative and must be used at a CTHS Ontario sale within one calendar year after earned. Sales credits earned may be transferable upon providing the necessary documentation requested by the program administrator.
A $1,000 (winner only) Owners Bonus is available to the winners of all Fort Erie allowance races, provided the winner is a REGISTERED ONTARIO BRED at the time of the race. In optional claiming races, only those horses running without a claiming prize are eligible.
Owners Bonuses will be issued to the Owner of the REGISTERED ONTARIO BRED winner and will be distributed on or around the 15th day of the following month.

2. REGISTER TO BID
Now you are ready to bid!
3. HOW TO BID
Always review your bid before hitting the BID button.
$1,000 - $3,000 = $250.00
$3,000 and up = $500.00
MAXIMUM BID OR AUTOMATIC BIDDING (Recommended)
EXTENDED BIDDING
The auction will have a staggered close. If a bid is placed on a lot during the last minute on the time clock, the auction will go into extended bidding for that lot and another minute will be added to the clock to allow the under-bidder to respond.
