The Thoroughbred Improvement Program’s (TIP) Breeders incentives are valued at $5.89 million. These incentives include Breeders Awards and Ontario Sired Reward of Excellence programs.
The objective of Breeders Awards is to reward breeding excellence and to invest in the Thoroughbred breeding sector, including the Ontario Sired program, to grow the province’s breeding industry.

The $5.39 million Breeders Awards program offers rewards to the breeders of best performing Ontario-bred horses at Ontario racetracks. The distribution is based on first, second and third-place finishes in most classes, including Grade 1 Open Stakes.
$300,000 in out-of-province Breeders Awards is available to be paid to all winners (1st through3rd) of Graded and Group Stakes, run outside of the province of Ontario -worldwide.
The $200,000 Ontario Sired Reward of Excellence program awards prizes to the Breeders of the top three highest earning Ontario-Sired horses worldwide. A total of $50,000 is offered for the two-year-old colt/gelding, two-year-old filly, three-year-old colt/gelding and three-year-old filly categories ($25,000 for first place, $15,000 for second place, $10,000 for third place in the standings).

EXTENDED BIDDING
The auction will have a staggered close. If a bid is placed on a lot during the last minute on the time clock, the auction will go into extended bidding for that lot and another minute will be added to the clock to allow the under-bidder to respond. Bidding for that lot will not close until a minute passes without a bid being placed.
If no bid is placed on a lot during the last minute of the auction, that lot will close.
