Stallion Awards

Ontario’s Thoroughbred Improvement Program allocates a total of $320,000 annually towards rewarding Owners of recognized Ontario Stallions for the successes of their progeny. The funds are distributed in two categories as follows:

Stallion Year End Points valued at $200,000:

  • Points, are earned by the progeny of stallions during the calendar year from the Allowance level through to the Sakes level races run in Ontario and Graded/Group Stakes races in Canada and worldwide.

Year End Top Stallion Awards valued at $120,000:

  • Year End Top Stallion Awards are distributed to the leading Ontario Sires based on their eligible

Ontario conceived progeny during the calendar year ending December 31st .

  • Top Sires Awards – $40,000 for 1st Place, $25,000 for 2nd Place & $15,000 for 3rd Place

  • Top 1st Year Crop Ontario Sire Award – 1st Place only - 10% of eligible Ontario conceived progeny earnings to a cap of $40,000
