Ontario-Bred Bickersons Speeds to G2 Victory at Gulfstream
Bickersons scored a seven-length win in the Grade 2, $150,000 Forward Gal Stakes held on January 31st at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
The seven–furlong contest for three-year-old fillies attracted one of the most competitive fields in the 30-year history of the event, including 2009 Eclipse Award winner She Be Wild. But in the end, Bickersons, an Ontario-Bred daughter of Silver Deputy, dominated the field of 10 talented fillies with her seven-length score over the Joanie’s Catch, who rallied for second. Liam's Dream finished third. Bickersons completed the distance in 1:22.35.
Bred by Robert G. Harvey of Mississauga, the dark bay filly is out of the Paramount Jet mare Dancehall Floozy. Bickersons has earned three victories in eight career starts and now has earnings of nearly $250,000 for owners George and Lori Hall of New Jersey.
